  • Located in the picturesque valley of the Nalycheva River, the Nature Park of the same name is the reservation of untouched nature. On the territory of more than 300.000 hectares there are a lot of unique places, which need special protection. The diversity of thermal and cold mineral springs has always been attracting the tourists. Only a few springs of the same chemical contents (arsenic, metaboric acid, silicic acid) exist in the world.

Kamchatka. The Nalychevo valley Stretching like a horseshoe the Avacha-Koryakskaya and Zhupanovsko-Dzendzurskaya volcanic chains are joined in the West by the volcanoes Kuhol and Vershisky and form the reserve of Nalychevskie mineral waters. The most popular became the Goryacherechenskiye, Zheltorechenskiye, Talovskiye, and Krayevedcheskiye thermal springs, as well as the Aagskie, Koryakskie, and Chistinskie narzan springs.

Park has wonderful mountain, tundra, and sea scenery views. The microclimate of the Nalychevskaya River makes for the diversity of flora and fauna. There are Erman’s birch-tree forests amazing in their beauty.

The large flowered slipper from the Orchids family, included into the list of rare plants of Russian Federation, can be also found here.

From 33 species of mammals, inhabiting this territory, the biggest one is a bear. A lot bears can be seen in the upper reaches of the Nalychevaya River in summer in the period of salmon spawning and berries ripening. The slopes of volcanoes and the rocks of Cape Nalycheva are inhabited by snow-ram. 90 species of birds make their nests in the park. Among them the birds from the List of rare species of Russian Federation (the Red Book). Pacific plover, Settller’s Sea Eagle, white-tailed eagle, merganser, golden eagle. The whole number of bird species in the Nalychevo valley is 145.

The geographic position of the Nature Park allows to use its territory as a zone of rest and recreation. Its southern boundary coincides with the boundary of the vegetation belt of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski and Yelizovo. On the territory of the Park there is a tourist resort (administrative building) from which all the tours to springs and to other sights of the valley usually start. Here is created the center of the ecological education and tourism. It is named in honor of the eldest tourist-scientist of Kamchatka local lore – Vladimir Ivanovich Semyonov.

The Nalychevo valley has the status of the national park and is considered to be the pearl in the crown of Kamchatka.

    The Talovskie springs

The Talovskie springs (3 groups) are spread along the left bank of the Vershinskaja river. The lower group of the springs located in the southern slope at the hight of 15-20 m between the Shaibina and the Vershinskaja valleys, deserves much attention. The waters of the group with the temperature of 38°C have the high degree of mineralization and as a result - sediments which have formed a long terrace on the slope. Its upper part is covered with scarlet deposits and is overgrown with multicolored algae. The greenery of the adjacent forest and the color of the mineral deposits create a very effective combination.

    The Aagskie mineral springs

These springs are known as "the Aagskie narzany" and are located at the foot of the extinct volcano - the Aag volcano. The mineral springs area can be found on the bottom of a narrow valley nearby a source of the Shumnaja river. Here among the boulders coated with light mineral deposits, jets of cold water flow out. Some of them are fountaining, others are operating in a pulsing or in a quiet mode. The water tastes a bit acid, the scent of sulfur is added. The picturesque way to the Aagskie springs is also worth attention and is very attractive.

    The Vershinskoe lake

This mountain lake is located 12 km apart from the central base in the Nalychevo valley. Before your eyes you will see tundra framed with the mountain ridges. You can admire yellow and pink rhododendrons and also you will be lucky to find very rare plants registered in the Red Book. 4-5 km apart there are cold mineral springs.

    The Dzenzur volcano

The Dzenzur volcano is the group of volcanic formations of different character. The center is the very destroyed Dzenzur with the height up to 200 m and the crater, the diameter of which is about 1 km. The bottom of the crater is mostly covered with glacier. Black ridges of lava streams and extinct fumarole grounds coated with yellow clay single out on its surface. Volcano eruptions are rare here. The last eruption took place in the beginning of 1957 and manifested in ash and gas outburst to the height of 1,5 km. Rather strong fumarole is constantly active in the crater, well-known as the Verhne-Dzenzur hot springs.
