The Vachkazhets mountain
The Vachkazhets Mountain is located 60 kilometers westwards of
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the area of the Nachikinsky Pass being
one of the highest points of Kamchatka roads.
This picturesque corner of the nature owes its primordial preservation
to a difficult access, even in summer. A short trekking tour does
not tire the tourists.
As a reward at the end of a four-kilometer way there will be a splendid
view of the mountain lake in the crater of the old dormant (extinct)
volcano surrounded by tops of old low mountains. The old age of
these mountains does not upset but stresses the greatness of what
you see.
During the itinerary you will undertake a very fascinating excursion
to the mountain waterfalls, where bright greenery is followed by
a "moon" landscape, fields of pink and yellow rhododendrons
- by snowy fields, and at last - a majestic waterfall.
