Stars above the mountain lake
 The
peak of the Alexeyevsky mountain range (Southern Sikhote-Alin),
the 1669-meter high Mt. Olkhovaya ranks among the most picturesque
in southern Primorye.
There are two unique lakes in the proximity of the mountain
top. The origin and the hydrology of these lakes have not
so far been investigated. Diameter of lakes is up to 50 meters,
their depth - 3 meters. Tidal level is very stable round the
year. Researchers and tourists who managed to reach these
unique Nature's wonder can't give any reasonable explanation
of their source.
Two days - tour starts yearly morning in Vladivostok. On
the way to the east, tourists have stop at Shamora Bay to
watch a beautiful sunrise over the Ussuriisky Gulf. Then they
arrive at the base camp "Gostiny Dvor" after crossing
the mountain pass Serebryany (Silver).
15 kilometers of the walk - and we are on the top of Mt.
Olkhovaya, our destination.
Marvelous night in the camp, very close to the bright stars
gives unforgettable impressions.
Next day' return along the picturesque valley with fishing
and alfresco lunch on the bank of Alexeyevka River.
