The Nature park Golybiye ozera (Blue lakes)
Blue Lakes is the name of the lake system located 600-m high above
the sea level in 16 km from Yelizovo City. They are called “blue”
because of the unique nature phenomenon: clean water and bottom
ice reflect the sunlight in such manner that all numerous flowers
on the shores of the lakes seem to be either blue or violet.
The lakes are relatively accessibly, they became very famous place
for all kinds of tourists. The route lies along the picturesque
views, starting from the ski-base “Gora Moroznaya”. Its length is
15 km The lakes are situated on different heights and connected
by the stream, which gives the source for the Polovinka River, running
through Yelizovo.
Having climbed the crest, the last height before finish, tourist
can admire the panorama of mountain Vachkazhets ice circus and rocky
peaks, and the picturesque lakes in the valley of the Levaya Bystraya,
and Gavanka rivers. The slopes of the hollow are covered with berry-fields.
Blue lakes are regional nature park.
